INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

with Dan Fajans, LMHC

Therapy is a trip. Not to some faraway place, but deep inside yourself. You're the navigator, charting your own course and discovering hidden treasures you never knew were there. And I'm your knowledgeable guide, here to help you explore and grow.

Think of me like a fellow explorer, well-versed in the ways of the mind and heart. I've packed a backpack full of tools and techniques – think mindfulness maps, emotional compasses, and communication anchors – but remember, you're the one who chooses what to use and where to go.

Think of me like a mapmaker, helping you find the right paths and offering helpful ideas about what you should put in your backpack. I also can help you find ways to handle tough times, like how to calm down when you're feeling upset or learning to say what you really mean. But you're the boss of this journey, deciding where you want to go and why it matters.

Whether you're seeking smoother sailing in your relationships, healing from past storms, or finding calm amidst the whirlwind of ADHD, I can offer support and guidance. We might use the Gottmans's charts to navigate the choppy waters of communication, or loosen emotional knots with EFT. Sometimes, it's about anchoring ourselves in the present moment with mindfulness, or exploring the stories we carry with Lifespan Integration.

But therapy is not primarily about tools and techniques. Years of working with people like you have affirmed what I was taught in my early training: the best help comes from a mix of knowing stuff and making a real connection. That's why I bring my whole self to therapy, sharing my knowledge and experiences openly. Sometimes, this means telling you a bit about my own life, like being a husband and juggling the joys and challenges of raising two energetic boys. Real human-to-human connection helps us build trust and understanding, which makes positive change much more likely.
